The College of the Redwoods has signed an agreement with the Coastal Commission and the state Department of Transportation to secure an endowment of $2 million for CR’s college farm.

Officials with the Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods have announced a tightening budget will force the organization to close during the holiday season.

Depending upon the outcome of the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior College Jan. 9 meeting, College of the Redwoods accreditation woes may be coming to an end.

The College of the Redwoods may be in the final stages of completing an agreement with the Coastal Commission and the state Department of Transportation to secure an endowment of $2 million for CR’s college farm.

Officials at the Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods announced former Chief Professional Officer Jeff Jacobs left his position, and Liz Smith has been appointed to take his place.

The College of the Redwoods will hold its first-ever showcase of technical job education opportunities Saturday to encourage employment opportunities in the wake of recent local layoffs, the college’s spokesman said.

The College of the Redwoods will hold its annual library book sale Nov. 24 through Dec. 5 at the main campus library. The sale is open to the public and admission is free.
