Much of McKinleyville exhaled a happy sigh upon seeing the backside of former Community Services Manager Tom Marking as he left his contentious stint with the MCSD in May of 2009. But it appears Marking took a parting shot by destroying audio archives of MCSD meetings shortly before his departure.

The McKinleyville Community Services District Board of Directors voted Wednesday to reduce the water fee increase from 9 percent to 3 percent. The district’s water and sewer fees, which will increase by 10 percent, will go into effect on Jan.
