Warriors seeking success in Big 5 Conference play [Daily Triplicate]
Big 5 season starts on Saturday down in McKinleyville
Thursday’s clear and sunny weather was the perfect backdrop for a baseball practice.
These conditions have been few and far between this spring for the
Del Norte High varsity baseball team, as wet fields and lots of rain
have been the norm, with most practices being held indoors.
Head coach Pablo Lorenzi was pleased with the weather change, as the
squad could get needed practices done before the start of the Big 5

The Del Norte High boys tennis team earned an 8-1 win over McKinleyville at home on Thursday.The Panthers had only three players suit up for the game with the Warriors winning three out of four matches that were played. The win improved Del Norte to 5-3 for the season. No. 1 seed Daniel Escobedo downed Dillon Carbiener 6-2, 6-0 and No. 3 seed Zach Collard defeated Joe Burdiac 6-1, 6-0.In No. 1 doubles Thomas Thao and Jesse Lee won 8-2 over Carbiener and Joshua Hernandez. In No. 2 singles Thao lost to Hernandez 7-5, 5-7, 6-2.
