KHUM reports McKinleyville Community Services Director Dennis Mayo will not run for 5th District Supervisor.
Rumors of a possible Mayo campaign have circulated for weeks — nay, months. Today Humboldt County grapples with the official “no.”
Candidates Pat Higgins, Pat Cleary, Ryan Sundberg and Jeff Lytle have all thrown their beanies in the hoop for the seat currently occupied by outgoing Supervisor Jill Duffy.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office arrested one additional suspect Friday and is seeking another in connection to the apparent killing of McKinleyville resident Jerry George, who has been missing since January.

Arcata Eye – Responding to concerns about economic and public safety impacts expressed by Arcata business and government, PG&E has modified its plans for this weekend’s planned power outage. Tuesday morning, City officials and PG&E personnel gathered at City Hall to exchange details on areas affected, the outage’s expected duration and to coordinate response.

Seniors Shane Endemano (130) and Kai Lemrise (171) earned White Stars with first place finishes and automatic bids the Northcoast Section Championships starting on Friday in Newark in the Bay Area.
