Humboldt County Drug Deal, High-Speed Chase Finally Ends In Arrest

Brian Cole Fiore, 19, from Antioch, who survived an apparent self-inflicted gunshot to the head, has been arrested at a Sacramento hospital on charges stemming from an armed marijuana robbery last week that ended with the death of his associate David Fields. Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies and the California Highway Patrol (CHP) followed the two suspects speeding toward Willow Creek on State Highway 299 after shots were fired from the vehicle in McKinleyville and Arcata. The suspect fired what was initially reported to be an AK-47 assault rifle toward police during the chase, but missed. The recovered weapon turned out not to be an AK-47, but an unspecified semi-automatic assault rifle.
