Humboldt County Man Faces 380-year Sentence in Rapes

EPD Chief Comments Published On “Unofficial” Website

garr nielsen EPD chief letterA letter from Eureka Chief of Police Garr Nielsen titled “Public safety is an investment, not a cost” is included on Homepage of “unofficial” website of the CCC, which we believe stands for California Correctional Centers. We are unsure of the Chief’s involvement with the site, or his input into it, but cartoons and comments like those to the left are sure to raise more than a few eyebrows. Most of the letter (and much of the website) is dedicated to stopping the State of California from releasing thousands of inmates due to a court order that cites prison overcrowding.
