Caltrans announced in a news release that bids for the Mad River Bridges Project were opened on Tuesday, Sept. 9. The apparent low bidder is Golden State Bridge of Benicia.
Golden State Bridge of Benicia is the apparent low bidder for replacing the U.S. Highway 101 bridges over the Mad River just south of McKinleyville, Caltrans announced Thursday.
Caltrans recently announced that a project to install median islands at Third and R streets in Eureka has begun, and will continue on weekdays from 7 a.

The Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation was awarded approximately $900,000 to help repair the Bald Hill Slide, according to a California Department of Transportation news release. This money came from the Federal Public Lands Highways Program and was administered by Caltrans Division of Local Assistance.

Caltrans announced Tuesday the 14 transportation projects selected for this year’s “Excellence in Transportation” awards. The awards are given annually by Caltrans to recognize excellence in design, construction, traffic operations, maintenance, planning, and improvements throughout California.
