Police shoot suspected rabid foxes near Arcata on Friday

According to the Arcata Police Department, at around 1 p.m. Friday two foxes thought to be infected with rabies were killed. The APD first received a report of two foxes acting strangely behind a home on Bayside Road.

Arcata approves the use of plumbing material

Arcata’s Board of Permit Appeals approved Thursday the use of a type of plastic tubing for plumbing in commercial projects within the city, saving the nearly complete Arcata Theatre Lounge from having to reinstall its plumbing.
