River Life Foundation announces community dinner
The River Life Foundation of Fortuna has announced that on every third Wednesday of the month, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., they will host a regular community outreach dinner.

Mary Bullwinkel Beacon Correspondent Southern Humboldt County’s Briceland Vineyards is swimming in a sea of gold. Not only did its Humboldt Brut Sparkling Wine take Best of Show, a Gold Medal, and best wine made from Humboldt County grapes honors at the 2011 Humboldt County Fair, the same sparkling wine brought home a double gold award from the California State Fair last month.

Two arrested for drug sales in Fortuna
On Sunday, Aug. 14, Officers with the Fortuna Police Department arrested two individuals in the 1000 block of Loni Drive on drug related charges. While on patrol, officers contacted 24-year old Eureka resident, Gustavo Figuerio and 28-year old Fortuna resident, David Elliott, Jr.
